Small pockets, just right for stashing a key or change, make these arm warmers useful as well as fun. Whether jogging in the park or dancing at the club, they are sure to brighten your outlook! A great project for using up worsted wt scraps.

My sister modeled these for the photo and didn't want to give them back!

Materials:
Yarn - Worsted weight left-overs in a number of colors (I used 10!), about 200 yards

Needles - Double point needles, US size 3 (3.25mm)

Other - Tapestry needle, 4, " buttons (for pockets)

Gauge: 22 sts and 28 rows = 4" (10cm) in stockinet st

Measurements:
length, elbow to cuff = 14"
circumference = 9"

Instructions:

Arm warmer: (make two) Cast on 48 sts. Divide evenly on 3 needles and join in a round. Work 4 rounds in k1/p1 ribbing. Work even in stockinet st (knitting every round) until piece measures 13-1/2" from cast on edge, changing colors whenever desired. Be sure to keep track of the number of rounds knit in each color if you want to make the second arm warmer to match. (Matching is not necessary!) Work 4 rounds in garter stitch (purl one round, knit one round [twice]). Bind off.

Pockets: (make two) Cast on 19 sts. Work even in stockinet st for 2-1/2" (longer for a deeper pocket). Work 4 rows in garter st, making buttonholes in row 2, as follows: k4, k2tog, yo, k to last 6 sts, yo, k2tog, k4.

Finishing: Weave in ends and block. Sew pockets to arm warmers 3" from wrist end. Sew buttons beneath buttonholes.
